The VIII edition of the ICMM School “Emergence of Quantum Phases in Novel Materials” will take place from October 6th to 10th, 2025 at the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid (ICMM-CSIC).
The goal of the School is to provide an overview of the effects of interactions and topology in Quantum Materials. We will focus on the fundamental concepts and discuss experimental results in real materials and devices.
The School is designed for both experimentalists and theorists with varying levels of experience, including master’s students, PhD candidates, postdocs, and permanent staff. The lectures will be conducted in English and will be held in person.
To fully benefit from the School, it is necessary to have a solid understanding of quantum mechanics, solid-state physics, Fermi-Dirac statistics, and second quantization.
The School was held in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023. It is currently organized every two years.
