In this study, the demonstration that high quality epitaxial Hf<sub>0.5<\/sub>Zr<sub>0.5<\/sub>O<sub>2<\/sub> films can be grown directly on C- oriented corundum substrates with a non-centrosymmetric orthorhombic structure, whose polar nature has been corroborated by pyroelectric measurements, contributes to the understanding of the mechanisms of the epitaxial stabilization of the ferroelectric phase of hafnia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/nano12071232\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Direct Epitaxial Growth of Polar Hf<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">0.5<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Zr<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">0.5<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">O<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">2<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Films <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">on Corundum<\/span><\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nE.
