From January 28 to February 7, Prof. Nicol\u00e1s P\u00e9rez Alvarez, who is currently a Full Professor at the Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda<\/a> , Universidad de la Rep\u00fablica, Uruguay, visited ICMM invited by Lorena Pardo.<\/p>\n

He is expert on the physics of the ultrasounds and electrical engineering on the areas of industrial automatization and control, he specifically has developed his scientific carreer on:<\/p>\n

– Applied Physics of the Ultrasounds modeling of nonlinear phenomena in power transducers based on piezoelectric ceramics, ultrasonic levitation, cavitation, …<\/p>\n

– Design and implementation of devices using ultrasounds in the food industry ”<\/p>\n

(Oil extraction, acceleration of reactions, sterilization, cleaning, etc.\u2026)<\/p>\n

– Techniques of non-destructive testing and monitoring of structural health by ultrasound, among others<\/p>\n

– Characterization of piezoelectric materials based on the FEM of ultrasonic transducers, and techniques of numerical optimization.<\/p>\n

– Acoustic signal processing and electrical measurements and instrumentation, which is the topic of todays talk. On this topic he presented an Invited Talk<\/a> at ICMM.<\/p>\n
