New electrode materials with fast Li+ de-\/insertion kinetic, high reversibility and low toxicity will be obtained. It will permits the development of batteries with high energy, high power, elevate cyclability and environmental friendly.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Electrode and Electrolyte for Solid State Batteries<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Objective: Preparation and study of new electrode materials and solid electrolyte with high energy values, strength, cyclability and high ionic conductivity.<\/p>\n<p><em>Solid Electrolytes<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em>Structural factors which favour the ionic conductivity in compounds of the families Li<sub>3x<\/sub>La<sub>(2\/3-x)<\/sub>TiO<sub>3<\/sub>, Li<sub>3x<\/sub>La<sub>(1\/3-x)<\/sub>NbO<sub>3<\/sub>, Li<sub>x<\/sub>Sr<sub>x<\/sub>La<sub>(2\/3)-x<\/sub>TiO<sub>3<\/sub>&nbsp;and&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Li<sub>1 + x<\/sub>M&nbsp;<sub>2 + x<\/sub>Al<sub>x<\/sub>&nbsp;(PO<sub>4<\/sub>)<sub>3<\/sub>&nbsp;(M = Ti , Ge).<\/p>\n<p><em>Electrode materials<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Regarding this theme, the following topics will be undertaken:<\/p>\n<p>-&gt; Materials for positive electrode (cathode): Spinels derived LiMn<sub>2<\/sub>O<sub>4<\/sub>, LiCoO<sub>2<\/sub>&nbsp;layered oxide derivatives and phosphate derivatives of LiFePO<sub>4.<\/sub><\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Preparation of new LiNi<sub>0.5<\/sub>Mn<sub>1.5<\/sub>O<sub>4<\/sub>-based cathodes. These materials have a very high potential (\u22484.7V) and elevated energy density (\u2248650 mAhg<sup>-1<\/sup>). For the present time, we have prepared some LiNi<sub>0.5<\/sub>Mn<sub>1.5<\/sub>O<sub>4<\/sub>-based cathodes with cyclability &gt;99.9% by cycle, that preserve their capacity at high currents (&gt;90% for i \u2248750mAg<sup>-1<\/sup>).<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Preparation of three-dimensional (3D) electrodes comprising active materials able to reversibly de-\/insert Li<sup>+<\/sup>-ions, and carbon monoliths with high electronic conductivity and porosity, the latter acting as current collector. The cathode active materials considered will be LiNi<sub>0.5<\/sub>Mn<sub>1.5<\/sub>O<sub>4<\/sub>, LiNi<sub>0.33<\/sub>Mn<sub>0.33<\/sub>Co<sub>0.33<\/sub>O<sub>2<\/sub>&nbsp;and LiFePO<sub>4<\/sub>. Nanometrics MO<sub>x<\/sub>&nbsp;and Li<sub>4<\/sub>Ti<sub>5<\/sub>O<sub>12<\/sub>&nbsp;will be used as anode materials.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Preparation of 3D LiMn<sub>2<\/sub>O<sub>4<\/sub>&nbsp;cathodes with inverse opal structure and very high capacity retention. The 3D integration of electrolyte\/electrodes in an all-solid state battery will be done.<\/p>\n<p>-&gt; Negative electrode materials (anode): simple and mixed nanostructured oxides of titanium, iron.<\/p>\n<p>In all cases, spectroscopic (NMR) characterization of electrolyte-electrode association by \u201cin-situ\u201d NMR techniques addressed to analyze factors that control Li conductivity in charge\/discharge processes. Lithium ions position in the crystalline structure will be determined by neutron diffraction (ILL of Grenoble). The Li-mobility will be analyzed by pulsed field gradient nuclear magnetic resonance (PFG-NMR).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Lithium-Ion Batteries Prototypes<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Objective: Design and development of prototypes for lithium-ion cells, button type batteries with excellent cyclability and low environmental impact.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Development of high-voltage (3-5V) and high ciclability (&gt;99.9% by cycle) Li-ionbatteries.
