I completed my PhD in 2015 at the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid under the supervision of Luca Argenti and Fernando Mart\u00edn, where I developed numerical tools to investigate the laser-driven dynamics of atomic autoionizing states unfolding at the attosecond (10<sup>-18<\/sup>s) timescale.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium\">From 2016 to 2021, I did a postdoctoral stay in the group of Misha Ivanov (Max Born Institute, Berlin), where I studied the non-linear optical response of matter under strong, polarization-tailored light fields.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium\">In 2021, I obtained a Marie Curie Fellowship to perform high harmonic generation experiments in 2D semiconductors in the\u00a0<\/span>group of Giulio Vampa and Paul Corkum at the\u00a0National Research Council of Canada, which allowed\u00a0me to complement my theoretical background with experimental skills.<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Since 2023, I am a Talento CAM Fellow at the ICMM, where I focus on the use of strong light fields for monitoring and manipulating electronic dynamics in solids on attosecond timescales.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium\">More information can be found in my homepage: <a href=\"https:\/\/attosecondscience.wixsite.com\/alvaro-jimenez-galan\">https:\/\/attosecondscience.wixsite.com\/alvaro-jimenez-galan<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My work lies at the interface between ultrafast laser physics and 2D materials.
