About us

Berta Gómez-Lor (bgl@icmm.csic.es) received her B.S in  organic chemistry in 1988 and obtained her Ph. D. degree in 1992  BSc degree from the University of Santiago de Compostela (UAM) in 1992. After two years of postdoctoral work at Sandoz Pharma, Basel, with Dr. Gideon Shapiro (1993–94) and at the University of Illinois with Scott E. Denmark (1994), she joined the group of Prof. A. M. Echavarren group at the UAM. In 2003 she obtained a position as tenured scientist at the Materials Science Institute of Madrid  ICMM, an institute of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (CSIC) and in 2009 was promoted to senior scientist. Her research interests is the synthesis of new materials for application in organic electronics such as light emitting diodes (OLED), photovoltaics (OPV), and thin film transistors (OTFT).
