ABSTRACT: The main goal of BEETHOVEN is to develop innovative and sustainable materials and Permanent Magnets (PMs) that can substitute REE in the energy and transportation sectors. We aim at developing and up-scaling innovative materials in order to produce high-entropy alloys magnets and ferrite-based composite magnets with energy products in the range of 55-220 kJ/m3. We will demonstrate a successful substitution of REE-magnets by BEETHOVEN magnets in 3 applications: a wind turbine for energy generation, a drivetrain for electric vehicles (EV) and a flywheel for energy storage.
