Carlos Payá

I am a PhD candidate in the Theory of Quantum Materials and Solid State Quantum Technologies under the supervision of Elsa Prada and Ramón Aguado.

I obtained my BSc in Physics from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 2021. Then, I pursued my Master studies in Condensed Matter Physics in the same university, which I completed in 2022 with my Master’s Thesis entitled “Topological phase and Majorana zero modes in full-shell nanowires” (https://carlosp24.github.io/files/TFM.pdf), done under the supervision of Elsa Prada in this group.

My research focuses on the theoretical study of topological superconductors with hybrid materials, with special emphasis on full-shell Majorana nanowires. I am also interested in their transport properties as well as their applications in quantum computing.

I am additionally engaged in the Superconductivity Outreach Team, participating in monthly talks to high-school students and scientific outreach events.

Get to know me a little better in my homepage (https://carlosp24.github.io/), where you can also find an updated list of publications and my CV.
