Joab graduated in Chemical Engineering at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) in 2019. Then he moved to Germany to do an internship at GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel to study dissolved organic matter for obtaining equilibrium equations for further ocean simulations under the supervision of Dr. Pablo Lodeiro, then he worked as a research technician in Rare Chemicals GmbH. for quality control. In 2021, he joined the group of Bioinspired Materials at ICMM-CSIC as a trainee under the supervision of Dr. M. Concepción Gutierrez. In 2023, he obtained a MSc. in Materials Science Engineering from Technical University of Madrid (UPM) based on the fabrication and characterization of materials for biomedical and technological applications, under the supervision of Dr. Margarita Darder and Dr. Javier Perez-Carvajal at ICMM-CSIC.
In 2023, he joined the group of Nanostructured Hybrid, Biohybrid and Porous Materials as a contract researcher under the supervision of Dr. Eva Garcia Frutos and Dr. Javier Perez-Carvajal, focusing on the synthesis, structure characterization, post-treatment, modification, and feasible potential applications of Metal and Covalent Organic Frameworks.
