Prof. Dr. Miguel Camblor

Miguel A. Camblor got his BSc in Chemistry from the Autonomous University of Madrid in 1985 and his PhD in 1992 from the same University, for work done under the supervision of Prof. J. Pérez-Pariente at the Institute of Catalysis and Petroleochemistry and at Institute of Chemical Technology, both of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). He has been a postdoctoral Fulbright Fellow and Visiting Associate in Chemical Engineering at CalTech (1992-1994), working with Prof. Mark E. Davis. After working for around 6 years as a Tenured Scientist at ITQ-CSIC he moved to Industry as Head of the Research and Development Department of Industrias Químicas del Ebro (2000-2002). He then joined the Institute of Materials Science of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) as a Research Scientist, being subsequently promoted to full professorship (Research Professor) in 2009. His main scientific interest is in the synthesis of microporous materials, with a focus on structure-direction issues, and on the physicochemical and structural characterization and applications of zeolites. He is coauthor of around 100 papers in international scholarly journals, with over 45 cites per paper, and co-inventor of 16 international and national patents. He also plays tenor sax in Within Experimental Error, the funk-jazz-blues band at ICMM-CSIC, and in Schizzofunk, the funk, rock and rejolguete band of Madrizz.
