Specific Surface Area and Porosity Analysis

The texture analysis laboratory has the following equipment: Micrometritics ASAP 2010, Coulter Omnisorp 100 and Micromeritics Flowsorb 2300, for gas and vapors adsorption on solids, and the recently acquired Poremaster Series Quantachrome Instruments for porosimetry measurement by mercury intrusion on porous solids.

The textural standard sample analysis is performed by N2 adsorption at 77 K.

• a. Single Point method.

• b. By analysis of the zone of relative pressures up to 0.35 and application of the BET method to the results.

• c. By analyzing micro and mesoporosity through the N2 adsorption-desorption isotherm.
