Paper on lead free ceramics in J. Eur. Ceram. Soc.

The processing of lead-free ferroelectric Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.1Ti0.9O3 using mechanosynthesized powders allows the control of grain growth during ceramic processing is reported in the latest number of Journal of the European Ceramic Society. The work reveals the triggering of a new mechanism for very large strain under electric field in fine-grained ceramics.
